Festival Too runs every year in Kings Lynn here in Norfolk. It started in 1985 with the aim of providing free entertainment to the people and visitors of West Norfolk. The event has definitely come a long way in the past 23 years - it is now one of Europe's biggest free festivals!

This year I was delighted to see that another of my life long favourite artists - Toyah, was performing at the event.

The evening was a great success, with the Tuesday Market Place packed to the hilt. Toyah and her band put on an excellent show - I really don’t know where she gets all her energy from!!
The only fly in the ointment was that the generator tripped and cut out about 3-4 times during the performance plunging the stage into darkness! Thankfully everyone made light of it and Toyah popped down to talk to the crowd whilst it was being reset. My sincere thanks must go to Alan Taylor, the Festival Too committee chairman who not only arranged my access to photograph the event, but also for me to meet Toyah before the show for a chat and to get a couple of items signed. Being the sad individual I am I gave her a laugh by showing a couple of grainy black & white photos I’d taken from the audience of her performing at Drury Lane in 1982. They obviously weren’t as strict back then as I used a 35mm film camera and telephoto lens! A lovely lady.

I’m looking forward to the festival next year...
