My last bike that I had until April 2008. I picked this 2000 model up with only 3500 miles on it!... After the RF600 I decided I wanted a bigger bike after being left behind on the straights on track days! After looking around I chose the Yamaha YZF1000 Thunderace.


Yeah I know I could have gone for a Fireblade or R1 etc. but I wanted a bike that’d eat up miles and be comfortable two up for trips as well as good at blasting round a track.


The guy who bought this from me ended up with a real bargain - it was in immaculate condition, plus I left on all the extras and accessories that I’d fitted. I was sad to see it go but I do love my new bike !!

Why make IT harder than it has to be?

It’s was a great reliable bike and until the I bought my new BMW K1200S I couldn’t find anything that was still sporty but big enough to tour two up. It even took my son Ben & I on holiday to Europe..... In 2006 we did France, Belgium, Luxembourg, Germany & Switzerland - all in one trip. Enjoyed it so much we did France, Switzerland & Germany again in August 2007. Pictures from those trips soon, but in the meantime here are various photos of the bike and me on it at Track Days I’ve done, again with my friends Rob & Karen.
