Thursday evening was always going to be different... and it certainly was! Nicholas Parsons chaired a special edition of his Radio 4 show “Just A Minute” with panelists for this night being Ian Lavender, Roy Hudd, Rick Wakeman & Kit Hesketh-Harvey.
The bad news on this night was that my camera packed up - turned out to be a pin in the card reader that had been pushed in. Consequently I was left without a means of capturing the evening until I was kindly rescued by another long term Rick fan, Steve Terrell who had his Nikon camera in the car.
As a Canon user the Nikon was totally unfamiliar and I wasn’t able to fathom out many of the controls. Unfortunately for some reason, it turns out that the camera had been set with a negative exposure compensation of 2 stops that Steve & I weren’t aware of - that is, all the photos taken were only exposed with a quarter of the light they should have been! This means that all the shots here have been pushed very hard in Photoshop with various noise reduction filters etc to try and recover the best picture I can get. That’s why they look very different from the rest of the week, but at least thanks to Steve’s generosity and his camera we have a record of the night that I wouldn’t have been able to get otherwise. Cheers Steve.
