Well at last after about 16 hours I was in Los Angeles. I got a cab to a small motel nearby the airport where I met up with Jon Kay & his daughter Rhiannan. I’d met Jon via Spudtalk and conversed with him before going, but we’d never met. Jon kindly agreed to put me up in their rooms for a few nights until I met up with Jane (Spudess), Kristin (She-vo) & crew. It was nearly 11pm by the time I arrived, but by the time we’d sampled the 99c beers and some mega munchies, it was 2 before we crashed!

Next day we met with Tom Keirstead who’d flown in from Boston to join up with us for a couple of the gigs. Hire car picked up - we headed for Palm Springs, not far from Cabazon where the first gig was to be held on the 26th.

Palm Springs must be a bit like Florida is supposed to be - Retirement Central! Boy I think a cryogenics firm would go down a storm there!

After relaxing in Palm Springs for a day, D-Day came. As we headed to the Key Club at Morongo, Cabazon we heard that there were some pretty serious brush fires taking hold nearby. As we got to the venue we could see that the fires were literally over the hills from the Morongo resort - and heading in!

We always said Devo were hot!

We arrived at the Key Club mid afternoon and were allowed into the venue to watch the soundcheck.

Sitting with Jon, Rhiannan, Tom, Kristin & Jane, Michael came over to say hi whilst we waited for the band to come on.

Then they did.....This is where it hit...I was here....Then they started playing....

Words cannot describe the emotions at that point. Most will not understand. Spuds will.

Before the main show we gathered to eat before the serious partying began.... Mmm, I’m not sure who’s hand was where!

The gig was awesome. Not only was I here listening to Devo play live for the first time in sixteen years, but there I was after the show at the ‘After Party’ meeting the band for the very first time - AAAAAAAARRRRRRGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
